This six-day workshop, delivered by RedR Australia, aims to train experienced trainers on the 2011 edition of the Sphere Project Handbook and to provide an opportunity to develop their training skills. It presents modern adult education approaches to training and facilitation and provides workshop participants with an opportunity to practise these skills during the course. The training includes the use of short PowerPoint presentations, individual and group exercises, interactive participation and peer review.
The course emphasises:
* Preparing and planning training sessions on the Sphere Project Handbook.
* The necessity of understanding the Sphere Project Handbook in detail before delivering training on it, as well as highlighting major changes from earlier versions.
* Promoting and maintaining your participants’ desire to learn.
* Refreshing your skills as a presenter and facilitator.
The deadline for applications is 1st of March 2013, with selected participants notified soon thereafter.

This course looks at the general principles of and priorities in public financial management in fragile states focusing on the challenge of reconstruction and capacity development. The course covers revenue, expenditure and macroeconomic priorities. It also discusses transitional management arrangements in post-conflict situations and how to assess needs and finance reconstruction and recovery in fragile and conflict affected states.
